Merry West English FULL TIME English teacher starting in March 2026.
The applicant must be fluent in English but does not necessarily have to be from a country where English is the native language.
Japanese skill would be preferable but not necessary.
We will give first looks to applicants who are already residing in Japan.
We will sponsor visas and help the applicant set up accommodation.
Must have a valid drivers license in Japan or their home country.
Teachers will work 5 days a week with two consecutive days off. These hours are consistent with most Eikawa: late afternoon to evening. There is only one morning a week on Saturdays but the teachers will be finished at 17:00.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be able sit on the floor, play and move around with children of all ages.
Daily upkeep of the branch they are representing is required. This includes: vacuuming, dusting, organizing and the bathroom/kitchen area.

We are looking for someone who is creative and enjoys making the class fun for the students while providing the basic skills for those students to succeed. We will reward reliability, proactivity , punctuality and teamwork with bonuses twice a year along with other incentives.
In the current global climate, we understand that there is no “correct” accent when speaking English so we are open to applicants from any country as long as the applicant is fluent in English.
With five branches of our schools, the teacher will be required to work independently and be a face of the company. We are looking for an applicant that enjoys teaching children and adults of all ages.
The curriculum has been created to be teacher friendly. Textbooks have been carefully chosen and the teacher needs only to add their personality to the class rather than spend hours prepping, copying pages and lesson planning. Preschool classes are also part of the position and in the 40 minute class teachers will need to be able to sing and dance with the kids.
Our class sizes are relatively small—no larger than 7 students in order for all students to have an optimal lesson.
Teachers receive a monthly salary along with two bonuses a year. There are five weeks of holidays in the year: Golden week, OBON(2 weeks)and New Years(2 weeks).
Suzuka is a great place to live! Not only is it the home of the F1 Circuit, but it also has large malls with cinemas and is close to both the beach and the mountains! In fact you can visit both in the same day!
It is countryside living. Relaxing and fun. Great food and friendly people. Being that it is a smaller city you will find the rent prices very reasonable. If you are looking for some city fun, we are only 45 minutes by train to Nagoya, 2 hours to Osaka and less than 2 hours to Kyoto!
